Bishop's Waltham & District

Twinning Association

Established 1987

What do we do?

The principle aim of the Bishop’s Waltham & District Twinning Association is to encourage friendship between the people of Bishop’s Waltham and the residents of St Bonnet-le-Château and the surrounding area, leading to a better understanding and knowledge of each other’s way of life and their spoken languages.

Bishop’s Waltham has been officially twinned with St Bonnet-le-Château in the Haute Loire region of France since 1987. St Bonnet-le-Château is an attractive hill-top town in a rural part of the country just 33 km from Saint Etienne and 93 km from Lyon.
